CAC Invitational- Bruins Go 2-3

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 Spartanburg Methodist hosted a weekend of exciting softball action at the Continental Athletic Conference Invitational, with Carolina University facing tough competition. Here's a recap of how the Bruins fared:

Game 1: Carolina University vs. Haskell Nations
Carolina University started the invitational strong with a 7-1 victory over Haskell Nations. Haskell took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but Carolina University quickly answered, tying the game in the bottom of the first. Carolina University then took the lead in the third inning and pulled away with a five-run sixth inning. M. Hamilton earned the win for Carolina University, pitching a complete game with 10 strikeouts.

Game 2: Carolina University vs. Georgia Gwinnett #10 
Carolina University faced a tough challenge against Georgia Gwinnett, ultimately falling 3-0. The game was a tight defensive battle, with Georgia Gwinnett scoring one run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth. Carolina University struggled to generate offense against Georgia Gwinnett's pitcher, I. Teems, who allowed only one hit.

Game 3: Carolina University vs. Spartanburg Methodist
Spartanburg Methodist edged out Carolina University in a close 2-1 contest. Spartanburg Methodist threatened early, loading the bases in the first inning, but Carolina University's defense held strong. Carolina University scored first in the bottom of the first, but Spartanburg Methodist tied the game in the sixth and took the lead in the seventh.

Game 4: Carolina University vs. Florida National
Florida National defeated Carolina University with a score of 12-4. Carolina University started strong, scoring two runs in the first inning. However, Florida National's offense exploded for eight runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth. Despite Carolina University's 11 hits, they couldn't keep pace with Florida National's powerful hitting.

Additional Notes:
Carolina University was scheduled to play Fisher between the Spartanburg Methodist and Florida National games, but Fisher had to forfeit due to injuries.

The Carolina University Bruins faced a range of outcomes at the Continental Athletic Conference Invitational, demonstrating both strong offensive performances and tough defensive battles.
