Charlotte, N.C. – The Carolina University Bruins continued their strong season with a dominant 20-0 win over Johnson C. Smith in the first game of their scheduled doubleheader on March 15. The second game was ultimately forfeited by Johnson C. Smith due to player injuries, leaving them unable to field a full team.
Game 1:
Carolina wasted no time asserting control, scoring two runs in the first inning before exploding for five more in the second. The offensive onslaught continued, with the Bruins putting up three, four, and six runs in the following innings, securing a run-rule victory after five frames.
Danielle Brooks led the way for Carolina, both on the mound and at the plate. She pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing just one hit while striking out six batters. Offensively, she tallied four hits and six RBIs, including two doubles.
Kalea Bolch was another key contributor, driving in seven runs, while
Cameryn Hays added three hits and a pair of doubles.
Defensively, Johnson C. Smith (1-6) struggled with errors, committing seven in the game, which allowed Carolina to keep piling on runs. The Golden Bulls managed only one hit and were unable to generate any offensive momentum against Brooks.

Unfortunately for Johnson C. Smith, injuries took their toll heading into the second game, forcing them to forfeit due to an insufficient number of available players. With the forfeit, Carolina secured an automatic win, capping off a successful trip to Charlotte.
