Carolina University Volleyball Begins Postseason Journey at CAC Tournament in Kansas

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Carolina University Women's Volleyball team, led by Head Coach Chelsea Jones, begins its postseason campaign this weekend as the Bruins travel to Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas, for the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Volleyball Tournament. Play opens on Friday, November 14, with Carolina entering the event as the #3 seed.

This year's CAC Tournament features a two-pool format:

Pool A

  • #1 Florida National

  • #3 Carolina University

  • #6 Westcliff University

Pool B

  • #2 Florida College

  • #4 Simpson University

  • #5 Haskell Indian Nations University (Host)

Carolina will take the court twice on opening day, beginning with a 1:30 PM matchup against top-seeded Florida National, followed by a pivotal 6:00 PM contest against Westcliff University. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, November 15, with the tournament championship scheduled for Saturday evening.

Coach Jones emphasized the team's readiness and growth heading into postseason play.

"Our group has shown tremendous resilience and development throughout the season," said Jones. "This tournament is a fresh opportunity. We've competed well against several of these teams before, and we know what it will take to advance. Our focus is on execution, staying composed, and playing the brand of volleyball that has brought us success."

The Bruins are familiar with their pool opponents following October's CAC Classic, hosted by Carolina University. In that event, the Bruins delivered a gritty five-set victory over Haskell Indian Nations, fell in a tight five-set battle against Florida College, and were competitive in a four-set matchup with Florida National. Those experiences, Jones notes, have helped prepare her team for the intensity and stakes of postseason play.

With a balanced roster and momentum built through a challenging regular-season schedule, Carolina enters the tournament confident in their ability to contend for a spot in Saturday night's final.

"This team believes in each other," Jones added. "We're excited, we're locked in, and we're ready for the CAC Tournament."
