WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — After a dominant showing in the second day of the Irma Stepp Memorial Classic, Carolina University Men's Basketball will hit the road for another early-season test, traveling to Brewton-Parker College on Tuesday, November 11 for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
The Bruins enter the matchup with a 2-3 overall record, looking to return to .500 and build on their momentum following a commanding 116–71 victory over The Crown College. Head Coach Jacob Heck's squad showcased its offensive potential in that performance, leading wire-to-wire behind balanced scoring and aggressive rebounding.
Through five games, the Bruins have averaged 83.6 points per contest, outpacing opponents by three points per game. Shawn Woodson leads the team in scoring at 15.8 points per game while shooting an efficient 51.7% from the field. Forward Tristan Kuska has provided a strong interior presence, averaging 12.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while Deuce Ford adds a reliable perimeter spark, shooting 54.5% from beyond the arc. Carolina also boasts a dominant +12.2 rebound margin, ranking among the most physical teams in the region early in the season.
Their opponent, Brewton-Parker College, enters Tuesday's contest undefeated at 3-0, including impressive home victories over Voorhees, Warner, and Webber International. The Barons are averaging 82.7 points per game while holding opponents to just 62.3, a margin of more than 20 points per game. Gil Gonzalez has been the early leader for Brewton-Parker, averaging 19.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per outing, while guard Abraham Garjah contributes 15.3 points and 4.7 assists per game.
Tuesday's matchup will feature a battle of contrasting styles — Carolina's uptempo offense and dominant rebounding against Brewton-Parker's efficiency and balanced scoring attack. For Coach Heck and the Bruins, the goal is clear: continue building cohesion, maintain defensive intensity, and carry the energy from Saturday's breakout win into a tough road environment.
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. in Mount Vernon, Georgia, as the Bruins aim to even their record at 3-3 and keep the momentum rolling early in the 2025–26 campaign.
