WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Tuesday, February 17 marked a special evening inside Williams Gymnasium as Carolina University Men's Basketball celebrated its final home game of the regular season while honoring its senior class on Senior Night.
Prior to tipoff, the Bruins recognized five seniors for their dedication and contributions to the program: Jason Danso, Enock Rosil, Cooper Smith, Balsa Folic, and Jordan Thompson. The ceremony highlighted the impact each student-athlete has made on and off the court, setting the tone for an emotional night in front of the home crowd.
Carolina battled throughout the contest but ultimately fell in a tightly contested matchup to Voorhees University, 70-67.
The Bruins showed resilience, outscoring Voorhees in the second half and cutting the deficit to a one-possession game in the closing seconds before time expired.
Despite the result, the night remained centered on honoring the senior class and the foundation they have helped build within the program. With postseason play approaching, the Bruins are focused on carrying momentum into the conference tournament as they look to make another championship run following last year's title performance.
Head Coach Jake Heck Quote:
"Senior Night is always special because it gives us a chance to honor five young men who have poured so much into this program. Jason, Enock, Cooper, Balsa, and Jordan have helped lay the groundwork for our culture and competitiveness. While we would have loved to send them out with a win at home, I'm proud of how our team continues to fight. Our focus now shifts to the postseason, and we're determined to make another strong run at the conference championship."
Carolina University will close out the regular season on Thursday, February 19, traveling to conference opponent Georgia Gwinnett for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
