Box Score GREENVILLE, SC -- The Carolina University Women's Soccer Team traveled to face off against Bob Jones University. Coach
Kyle Neal entered the game expecting a battle and his squad delivered a tough played match for their fans. However, CU wasn't able to convert on some late opportunities and dropped the match 0-1. Bob Jones' only goal of the match came at the 31:51 mark in the first half. Carolina University didn't have as many shots as BJU, but had some poor luck late and couldn't convert to at least tie the game in regulation.
Jamison Calhoun did have 9 saves in the match, and CU put 6 of their 8 shots on goal led by
Adaly Hernandez who came off the bench and put both of her shots on goal.Â
After the game Coach Neal credited Bob Jones for a well played game, but liked what he saw from his group in terms of execution and opportunities. Looking ahead, he felt that CU can hold their head high. "I feel like we executed the plan early in the game and had some good possessions...The entire 2nd half is the positive to build off going forward. We played the game our way and put them under a lot of pressure."
Fortunately, Carolina University won't have to wait long to bounce back. The Lady Bruins will play at Life University in Marietta, GA on Friday, October 9th and at Dalton State College in Dalton, GA on Saturday, October 10th. After that back-to-back road trip, CU will host 3 matches in 10 days to close out the month of October. Bob Jones University will visit Carolina University in the middle of that home stand for the Golden Game on Friday, October 23rd.
