Box Score Winston Salem, NC -- The Piedmont International University Men's basketball team evened their season record to 4-4 with a 70-55 victory over Bob Jones Friday night (Dec. 1).
The PIU Bruins came out to a slow start in the first half trailing 8-2, until
Troy Mix Jr. made a 3 to tie up the game 12-12.
Mahmood Omar stepped off the bench as a momentum changer for the team, pushing PIU past Bob Jones (20-18). The score of the first half went back and forth between both Bruin teams, but in the end, benefited Piedmont International.Â
After spending the majority of the first half tied, PIU took the largest lead at 29-23. A breakaway by
Antione Robinson gave the PIU Bruins a lead of 9 and created a change in pace for the rest of the game. After a timeout at 56-51, PIU kept Bob Jones to 4 points, while they closed out the game on a 14 point run.

Josh Howard shared that he adjusted practicing patience at halftime. "I think our guys didn't want to pass the ball. Our guys got complacent, taking jump shots and not driving to the hole. I told them to drive the ball, share the ball".
Nashawn Carter put up a total of 28 points for the game, 15 points alone in the first half.
Troy Mix Jr. also hit double figures; add 17 points of his own. "The team is starting to gel and tonight will hopefully be the start of our streak!" said Coach
Josh Howard.
The Bruins return to action Saturday (Dec. 2) when they take on University of the Cumberlands. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
