The wait is almost over. Carolina University Men's Soccer team will take the field for the first time in 2025 on
Thursday, August 21, hosting Guilford College under the lights at
Truist Sports Park. Kickoff is slated for
7:00 PM.
For the Bruins, this matchup marks the official beginning of their season — a chance to measure offseason progress and grow together as a team to make another deep run this fall. Guilford, meanwhile, lists the contest as an exhibition, but with local bragging rights on the line, fans can expect the same competitive edge that has defined past meetings between the two programs.
Carolina enters the fall looking to build on last year's strides and take another step forward as the program made a NCCAA National Championship game appearance last fall. With a mix of experienced returners and talented newcomers, the Bruins have emphasized growing as a team, understanding what it takes to make a deep run in the postseason and what it takes to win.
"This team has shown relentless commitment since the offseason began," said Head Coach
Craig Golding, "We're excited to finally play someone in a different jersey and set the tone for what we believe can be a strong season."
Beyond the tactical elements, the night carries an added layer of excitement. A home opener at Truist Sports Park provides a stage for the team to showcase its identity and ignite energy among students, alumni, and local supporters.
Carolina will aim to make a statement early — and a win over Guilford would provide a good start to the season before heading deeper into non-conference play and eventually into conference play.
Up Next: After the opener, the Bruins will travel to Emory & Henry University and take on the Wasps for a kickoff slated for
2pm.
