Carolina University women's basketball saw three standout players earn NCCAA South All-Region honors for their performances this season.
Le'Asia Matthews and
Felesia Ondongo were named to the First Team, while
Bianca Gonzalez secured a spot on the Second Team. Their contributions were instrumental in the Bruins' successful 15-9 campaign.
Le'Asia Matthews – First Team All-Region
Matthews was a key offensive weapon for Carolina University, leading the team with 12.4 points per game. Playing in all 24 games, she accumulated 297 points while shooting 34.5% from the field. Matthews was also effective from beyond the arc, knocking down 22 three-pointers. Additionally, she contributed 2.6 rebounds per game and provided 43 assists. Her aggressive play earned her 133 trips to the free-throw line, where she converted 60.9% of her attempts.
Felesia Ondongo – First Team All-Region
Ondongo was a force on both ends of the floor, averaging 12.0 points and a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game. She played 23 games and showcased her versatility by shooting 38.3% from the field, including 39 made three-pointers at a 31.2% clip. Additionally, Ondongo was a dependable free-throw shooter, converting 73.2% of her attempts. Defensively, she was a key presence with 34 steals and five blocks.
Bianca Gonzalez – Second Team All-Region
Gonzalez was a perimeter threat for the Bruins, finishing the season with 55 three-pointers while shooting 31.6% from deep. She averaged 11.0 points per game and logged the most minutes on the team (679). Her well-rounded play included 4.0 rebounds per contest, 34 assists, and 37 steals. Gonzalez was one of the team's most reliable free-throw shooters, hitting 81.0% of her attempts
