Winston-Salem, NC- Coming off its second win of the season and a strong start to CAC play, the Carolina University Women's Basketball team returns to action on Saturday, December 13, hosting West Virginia Tech for a 1 p.m. tipoff inside Williams Gymnasium.
The Bruins enter the weekend with renewed confidence after securing a 57–47 victory over Morris College on Wednesday, opening conference play at 1–0 and snapping through a stretch of challenging non-conference competition. The win showcased Carolina's growth on both ends of the floor, as the Bruins held Morris to under 50 points while shooting efficiently and controlling the glass.
Saturday's matchup marks the third meeting this season between Carolina and WVU Tech. The two teams previously squared off twice in November including a narrow 64–59 setback in Beckley on November 14. Those earlier matchups provide a familiar opponent and a clear benchmark as the Bruins continue to develop chemistry and consistency.
Head coach Hannah Latiolais has emphasized the team's progress, particularly the defensive intensity and toughness shown in recent outings. Carolina enters the game averaging nearly 60 points per contest while continuing to focus on improving efficiency and rebounding, areas that were evident in Wednesday's conference-opening win.
"We're starting to see our work translate on the court," said Latiolais. "The confidence from that first conference win was important, but what matters most is how we respond. WVU Tech is a familiar opponent, and we know the level of focus and effort it's going to take to put together a complete 40 minutes."
Saturday's game serves as Carolina's final tune-up before resuming conference play, offering another opportunity to build momentum and continue turning early-season lessons into results.
Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, at Williams Gymnasium. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Bruins.
