Winston-Salem, NC – The Carolina University Women's Basketball 2024-2025 season is set to begin this weekend with an away match up against Alice Lloyd College. The Bruins are returning after a monumental season led by Head Coach Kimiere Hawkins, who is in her second stint as head coach.

Last season, the Bruins finished with a 16-9 record and made a strong run in the national championship, falling just short to Grace College. The team has been hard at work during the offseason, and Coach Hawkins expressed her excitement: "We're looking forward to our first game back to set the tone for the season and to continue the success we started last year."

During the offseason, the Bruins focused on preparing mentally for the challenges ahead, including a demanding travel schedule. "It's essential to ensure our mental game is top-tier since basketball is such a mental sport," said Coach Hawkins.
