Winston-Salem, NC – Carolina University Men's Volleyball (5-8) hosted Life University (7-8) on Thursday, March 9th in Williams Gymnasium. The Bruins were dominant for the entire match, resulting in a three-set sweep of the Running Eagles. The Bruins won on a total team effort, led by Bryson Abernathy's 13 kills (finishing with a .375 hitting percentage), Tijhmir Glasco's 30 assists, with Mason Chambers and Steven Wilson both logging 7 digs apiece.Â
"I was really proud of the guys. We had a hard day of practice yesterday where I challenged them really hard, and they responded really well. This is the best they've ever executed a game plan and they had a really good focus on what we were doing," said Coach Bill Ferguson immediately after the match. "We talk a lot about competitive IQ and competitive maturity, and this is the best we've done at that this season. It's good to be able to sit on this for the weekend and have a long week of prep next week. We're gonna see these guys again this season at their place and that's going to be a great test of our competitive maturity."
The Bruins host another tough NAIA opponent when they face St Andrews University next Wednesday, March 15th in Williams Gymnasium at 7:00PM. Carolina U will look to avenge an early season loss in Laurinburg to the Knights.
