Bill is the inaugural men's volleyball coach at Carolina University.
Education: Ferguson is obtaining his degree in Business from CU.
Professional: Ferguson joins the Carolina University Bruins with an immense amount of experience coaching collegiate men's volleyball after serving as the head men's coach at the University of Southern California for ten years. Compiling a record of 150-102, Ferguson led the Trojans to three NCAA volleyball Final Fours and two runner-up finishes in 2009 and 2012. His teams won two Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) regular-season titles and one MPSF Tournament championship. Bill was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Coach of the Year in 2009 and 2012 and the MPSF Coach of the year in 2011.
Prior to CU, Bill was the head women's coach at Wake Forest University for three seasons. During his time, he coached and developed two All-ACC players.
Ferguson also has an extensive club volleyball background as he was a founder of the Southern California Volleyball Club. As a club coach, Bill has coached boy's, girl's, and men's open club teams to 13 USA Volleyball gold medals. His boy's club teams reached the USA Junior National Volleyball Championships for five straight years from 2010-15. Bill is currently coaching the boy's 18's team at Carolina Union Volleyball Club in Charlotte, NC.
Bill also served on the coaching staff for the USA Volleyball National teams seven times. He was an assistant coach for the USA Boy's Youth National team in 2000, 2001, and 2003 before assisting the Boy's Youth A2 team in 2004. Bill served as the head coach of the USA Men's Junior National A2 team in 2006, 2010, and 2012. In his many years of coaching, Ferguson has instructed over 12 Olympic athletes, such as Micah Christenson, Murphy Troy, Ryan Miller, Gabe Gardner, and Donald Suxho.
Personal: Bill resides in Winston-Salem, NC, with his wife Brenn, Carolina's Head Women's Volleyball Coach, and their two daughters, Blake and Emery.
