WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Carolina University Women's Volleyball continued its winning ways Friday afternoon, earning a straight-set victory over Pfeiffer University inside Williams Gymnasium.
Coming off a win over Columbia College on Tuesday, the Bruins entered Friday's September 11 matchup looking to remain in the win column. Carolina accomplished just that, defeating Pfeiffer 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-22) to improve to 6-7 on the season.
Carolina was tested early in an opening set that featured 10 ties and seven lead changes. The Bruins eventually created separation to secure a 25-21 victory before carrying the momentum into the second set. CU controlled the frame on its way to a 25-16 win and a commanding 2-0 advantage.
Pfeiffer battled to keep the match alive in the third, but Carolina closed out the afternoon with a 25-22 victory to complete the sweep.
The Bruins produced 42 kills while hitting .153 as a team and finished with 77 digs, five service aces and six solo blocks. Carolina's offense improved throughout the match, recording 12 kills in the opening set, 14 in the second and 16 in the third.
Madison Kilgore led the Carolina attack with a match-high 10 kills while hitting .231. Corinne Cutter delivered an efficient performance with seven kills on 11 attempts and a .545 hitting percentage, while Jordan Connolly and SarahElizabeth Samuels each added seven kills. Melia Coleman contributed five kills while hitting .250.
Defensively, Charlee Hale paced the Bruins with 17 digs, followed by Emma-Grace Dubuc with 15. Martina Rivolta recorded 15 assists and 11 digs, while Natalia Cano added 17 assists, 10 digs and two service aces.

With the victory, Carolina picks up its second consecutive win and moves one step closer to the .500 mark as the Bruins continue their 2026 campaign.
