CENTRAL, S.C. — Carolina University Men's Soccer continued its unbeaten start to the 2026 season Saturday evening, rallying from a second-half deficit to earn a 3-2 road victory over Southern Wesleyan University at Joe R. Gilbert Track & Field.
The Bruins entered Saturday's contest with momentum after earning a 2-1 victory over Guilford College on Wednesday. Carolina carried that momentum on the road and improved to 3-0-0 on the season with another hard-fought result.
Carolina struck first late in the opening half. In the 44th minute, Jordan Julian found the back of the net to give the Bruins a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime. Julian finished the match with three shots, all three on goal, and his first-half goal.
Southern Wesleyan responded quickly after the break. Ramon Smith Estrada equalized in the 52nd minute before Leonardo Flores converted a penalty kick just over two minutes later, putting the Warriors ahead 2-1.
Facing their first deficit of the afternoon, the Bruins answered.
Will McCamley delivered the equalizer in the 76th minute, finishing a chance created by Phil Ketzscher to pull Carolina even at 2-2. Seven minutes later, McCamley struck again, scoring the eventual game-winner in the 83rd minute to complete the comeback and give the Bruins a 3-2 advantage.
McCamley led the Carolina attack with two goals on two shots, while Julian added the Bruins' other goal. Ketzscher recorded Carolina's lone assist.
In goal, Isaac Bunton played all 90 minutes and came up with eight saves to help preserve the victory. Southern Wesleyan generated 17 shots and put 10 on target, while Carolina finished with 10 shots, seven of which were on goal.
"I'm extremely proud of the way our guys responded today," Head Coach Craig Golding said. "Going on the road and finding a way to win after falling behind shows a lot about the character and resilience of this group. We stayed together, continued to compete, and found the moments we needed late in the match. There are still areas we need to improve, but starting 3-0 gives us something positive to continue building on."
The Bruins will return to action Friday, September 4, when they travel to University of Pikeville for a 7pm kickoff.
