WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Carolina University has been recognized by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as a 2025-26 Champions of Character® Five-Star Institution at the Gold Level, the highest distinction awarded through the NAIA's Champions of Character program.
The prestigious Gold designation recognizes institutions that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the NAIA's five core values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership. Institutions are evaluated through the NAIA Champions of Character Core Report, which measures excellence in character education, academic focus, sportsmanship, servant leadership, and character promotion. Gold status is awarded to institutions earning between 90 and 100 points.
Carolina University's recognition reflects the dedication of its student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and campus community to fostering an environment where character development is valued alongside competitive excellence.

Throughout the 2025-26 academic year, Carolina University's athletic programs emphasized leadership development, community service, academic achievement, and sportsmanship while competing across the Continental Athletic Conference and the NAIA.
The NAIA Champions of Character® initiative serves as one of the association's signature programs, promoting the lifelong values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership while preparing student-athletes for success in competition, the classroom, and their communities.
