Carolina University Women’s Volleyball Set for Day One of Maroon Classic

ROANOKE, Va. — Carolina University Women's Volleyball opens competition at the 2025 Maroon Classic hosted by Roanoke College on Friday, September 5. The Bruins will play two matches inside the Cregger Center, facing Salem College before returning to the court against Brevard College.

Game One: Carolina vs. Salem College — 5:00 p.m.

The Bruins begin their portion of the Maroon Classic at 5:00 p.m. with a matchup against Salem College, renewing a regional rivalry. Salem enters the tournament looking to build momentum early in the season, while Carolina University will aim to establish a strong presence at the net and set the tone defensively.

Game Two: Carolina vs. Brevard College — 7:00 p.m.

Carolina returns to the court at 7:00 p.m. for its second match of the day against Brevard College. The Tornado's' athleticism and quick tempo present a challenge, but the Bruins' balanced attack and ability to adapt across rotations will be key factors. Carolina's setters and hitters will look to maintain rhythm while the back row anchors the defense against Brevard's offensive push.

Building Early Season Momentum

Head Coach Chelsea Jones and the Bruins see the Maroon Classic as an opportunity to sharpen team chemistry and gain valuable experience against non-conference opponents. With two matches in one day, the team's stamina, focus, and execution will be crucial in determining success.

The Maroon Classic continues through Saturday, and Carolina University will look to carry the energy from Day One into Day Two when they play Methodist University and North Carolina Wesleyan University.
