Winston-Salem, N.C. – September 23, 2025 – Carolina University Women's Soccer fell 6–0 to Montreat College in a home contest at Truist Sports Park on Tuesday evening. The Bruins battled throughout the match but could not keep pace with the Cavaliers' balanced attack.
Montreat opened the scoring in the 11th minute through Sawyer Kenney, assisted by Kylie Ridings. The Cavaliers doubled their advantage eight minutes later as Sam Aalbue found the net, and Rebeca Cruz Manon added a third in the 33rd minute. Following the match, Head Coach Boo Tesh emphasized the importance of perseverance despite the result:
"We created some good opportunities tonight but didn't finish in the critical moments. Montreat capitalized on their chances and made it difficult for us to settle into the game. Our focus now is on regrouping, staying positive, and continuing to build toward becoming the team we know we can be."
Carolina (1–7–2) will look to rebound in its next outing as they travel to Bluefield State on Wednesday October 1, 2025 with kickoff slated for 6 p.m.
