WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Carolina University Women's Volleyball improved to 9-4 on the season with a 3-1 victory over Columbia College on Tuesday evening inside Williams Gymnasium.
The Bruins dropped the opening set 25-23 but responded with strong play to take the next three frames 25-16, 27-25, and 25-22. Carolina finished with 52 kills on the night, highlighted by double-digit performances from Britney Comolli (10 kills, .304) and Karli Totel (10 kills, .308). Kammi Naude added eight kills along with a team-high seven total blocks, while setter Syvannah Poore guided the offense with 21 assists and two service aces.
Defensively, the Bruins tallied 51 digs, led by Kai Horta and Poore with seven each, while the blocking effort proved pivotal in tight moments. Columbia was paced by Tamia Fripp and Maranda Bird, who registered nine kills apiece.
With the win, Carolina extended its win streak to 6 and overall record to 9-4, while Columbia dropped to 0-8 overall.
