Carolina University Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Columbia College on the Road

Columbia, S.C. — September 9, 2025 — Carolina University Women's Volleyball turned in a dominant performance Tuesday evening, sweeping Columbia College 3–0 (25–18, 25–18, 25–19) inside Godbold Arena. The victory lifts the Bruins to 5–4 on the season while Columbia falls to 0–7.

Match Summary

The Bruins controlled the pace from start to finish, hitting an impressive .316 as a team while limiting Columbia to just .132. Carolina came out strong in the opening set, using a balanced attack led by SarahElizabeth Samuels, who tallied 12 kills on a blistering .500 hitting percentage. Setter Syvannah Poore orchestrated the offense efficiently, distributing 20 assists to go along with 5 service aces and 6 digs.

The second set saw CU open on an 8–1 run behind steady serving from Poore and Natalia Cano, keeping Columbia on its heels. Kammi Naude and Karli Totel added timely kills to push Carolina ahead 2–0 in the match.

In the third, Columbia put together small rallies behind Kameron Turner's 9 kills, but the Bruins answered every push. Hannah Hardy provided a spark late with a service ace and an assist, while Charlee Hale sealed the sweep with a service ace on match point.
