LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — November 9, 2025 — On CAC Semifinal Sunday at the Grizzly Soccer Complex, the Carolina University Men's Soccer team put forth a determined effort but fell just short against No. 12 Georgia Gwinnett College, 2–1, in a tightly contested match against the #1 team in the CAC.
The Bruins struck first in the 16th minute when Will McCamley continued his outstanding season, scoring his ninth goal of the year to give Carolina an early 1–0 lead. Carolina's defense held firm through the first half behind the sharp goalkeeping of Joshua Wilson, who recorded seven first-half saves to keep the nationally ranked Grizzlies scoreless.
In the second half, Georgia Gwinnett rallied with goals in the 55th and 72nd minutes to edge ahead, despite a disciplined and organized defensive showing from the Bruins. Wilson finished with eight total saves, while Anton Geppert and Tlotlo Lekobane each added shots on goal as Carolina pressed hard in the closing minutes.
Head Coach Craig Golding praised his team's resilience against elite competition, saying,
"I couldn't be prouder of this group. We went toe-to-toe with one of the top teams in the country and left everything out on the field. The fight, the composure, and the brotherhood they showed today are what define this program."
With the result, Carolina University moves to 8–5–2 on the season and now turns its attention to the NCCAA South Region Tournament, where the Bruins will look to make another postseason run and earn a return trip to the NCCAA National Tournament, where they finished as National Runner-Up last year.
