Carolina University Rolls Past The Crown College to Close Out Irma Stepp Memorial Classic

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — November 8, 2025 — Carolina University Men's Basketball put on an offensive showcase on Day 2 of the Irma Stepp Memorial Classic, defeating The Crown College 116–71 inside the Perry Campus Center. The Bruins exploded out of the gate, building a 61–34 halftime lead and never looking back en route to their second win of the season.

Carolina shot an impressive 57% from the field, led by a balanced team effort that saw five players score in double figures. Tristan Kuska powered the Bruins early with 16 points and six rebounds on 8-for-10 shooting, while Zay Scott added 13 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Off the bench, Shawn Woodson and Balsa Folic each tallied 12 points, combining for 15 rebounds and eight assists. The Bruins dominated the paint, outscoring Crown 76–14 inside and securing 61 total rebounds.

Carolina's bench was once again a major factor, contributing 71 points as every active player saw the floor. The team's defensive intensity also stood out, forcing 14 turnovers and converting them into 17 points on the other end.

Head Coach Jacob Heck praised the team's complete effort after the game, saying,

"We played with great energy and shared the basketball extremely well today. The guys set the tone early and sustained it for forty minutes — that's the kind of focus we want to build on moving forward."

With the victory, Carolina improves to 2–3 on the season and wraps up the Irma Stepp Memorial Classic with momentum heading into next week. The Bruins will return to action on Tuesday, November 11, when they travel to face Brewton-Parker College for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
