Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Carolina Dominates Paine College in Road Match on Tuesday Evening

Augusta, Ga. – The Carolina University Women's Volleyball team, led by Head Coach Chelsea Jones, cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory (25-11, 25-14, 25-23) over Paine College on Tuesday evening in Augusta, Georgia. The win marks the next-to-last regular season contest for the Bruins, improving their record to 21-12 on the year.

Carolina had previously swept Paine College in Winston-Salem back on September 2, and Tuesday's matchup followed a similar storyline as the Bruins controlled the pace from start to finish.

The offensive attack was balanced across the roster, with Kammi Naude pacing the team with eight kills on an impressive .538 hitting percentage, while Syvannah Poore distributed 18 assists and added two service aces to the stat sheet. Hannah Hardy and Valeria Suarez were also standouts from the service line, Hardy having 6 aces and Suarez chipped in 3 of her own for nine total aces, helping to keep Paine on their heels throughout the evening.

Defensively, Charlee Hale anchored the back row with nine digs, while Carlota Lobete, Britney Comolli, and Karli Totel each contributed six kills apiece in an efficient offensive performance that saw the Bruins hit .321 as a team.

The Bruins took the first two sets decisively and showed composure in the third, holding off a late Paine rally to close the match in straight sets.

Up Next

Carolina University will wrap up its regular season on Friday, November 7, with a road trip to Guilford College for a 6:00 p.m. first serve. The Quakers enter the contest with a 17-8 record, setting the stage before the Bruins turn their attention to postseason play.
