Lady Bruins Win Annual Dig Pink Match Over Ferrum, 3–0

The Carolina University Women's Volleyball team delivered a dominant performance on Tuesday evening, sweeping Ferrum College in straight sets (25–21, 25–20, 25–14) during their annual Dig Pink match at Williams Gymnasium. The victory improves the Lady Bruins to 17–9 on the season.

This annual game holds special meaning for the Carolina Volleyball program, as it honors breast cancer survivors and raises awareness for breast cancer research. The evening brought together players, fans, and families in a moving show of support and community spirit.

Carolina controlled the match from start to finish, hitting an efficient .245 as a team while holding Ferrum to just .019. SarahElizabeth Samuels led the Lady Bruins with 10 kills and added three total blocks. Rachel Powell and Jordan Connolly each contributed seven kills, while Syvannah Poore dished out 22 assists to pace the offense. On defense, Kai Horta anchored the back row with 17 digs, and the Bruins totaled eight team blocks in the sweep.

Head Coach Chelsea Jones reflected on the emotional and competitive aspects of the night:

"Dig Pink is always one of the most meaningful nights of our season. It's about so much more than volleyball—it's about honoring survivors, supporting those still fighting, and coming together as a family. I'm proud of how our team played with passion and unity tonight. It was a great performance and a special evening for everyone involved."
