Clemmons, NC- Tuesday evening Carolina University softball (5-7) faced off against Salem College for the second time this season (3-11) in an at-home doubleheader. The Bruins beat the Spirits winning back-to-back games.
Game 1: The Bruins won the first game of the doubleheader 5-1, letting up only one run in the first inning. In game one Danielle Brooks pitched 7 innings for the Blue and Gold, in those innings she tallied 3 strikeouts. Kalea Bolch led with 5 POs Courtney Cox and ZyMaijah Thomas were right behind having 4 each. Lexi Hall was the only Bruin in the first game to hit a triple. While the Blue and Gold were able to manage three double plays.
Game 2: In game two the Bruins beat the spirits 9-0, Madison Hamilton pitched 5 innings for the Blue and Gold and tallied 2 strikeouts and 0 errors. Grace Johnson had 2 triples in the second game and ZyMajiah Thomas tallied one for herself along with 3 runs. Kalea Bloch led once again in POs with 5, and Bolch also tallied1 double.
