Winona Lake, IN- Women's Basketball beats Alice Lloyd College to advance to the NCCAA National Championship game. The Lady Bruins bested the Eagles taking the game 80-68.
In the 1st quarter, the Bruins and the Eagles battled back and forth for the lead and ended 13-13. In the 2nd, Shamya Loman went for a shot in the paint within the first 15 seconds and it was good. Setting the tone for the rest of the quarter and establishing a 41-28 lead to end the 2nd. The Bruins did not lose the lead again and used a string of plays and consistent defense to hold the Eagles at bay.
Historically the Bruins have never been able to best the Eagles, but tonight was different. The Blue and Gold wanted it more and fought their way to the Championship. Carolina University Women's Basketball continues to make history and break records and tonight was just another outcome of a Championship team.
"I'm so proud of these young girls and how they are playing together as a team. We are so thankful for God's grace and mercy. We have to continue to build off of this and keep getting better as a team." - Coach Hawkins
