Columbia, SC- Carolina University Softball battled on the road during Monday's doubleheader against the Koalas of Columbia College. 

The Lady Bruins won the first game11-6, tallying 2 home runs. The Koalas were able to beat the Bruins in game 2, with a final score of 3-6.

Game 1 

Offensively the Bruins got off to a strong start establishing a lead early with 6 runs in the top of the 1st. Danielle Brooks singles into right field with two base runners on, earning herself 2 RBIs. Grace Andrews doubled to center field bringing Lexi Hall back to home plate ending the 1st inning 3-0.

In the top of the 7th, after already earning 1 run to start the inning the score is set at 7-6. With two outs and bases now loaded Grace Johnson steps up to the plate. Johnson sent a long ball over the fence, tallying her 2nd home run of the game and earning 4 RBIs. 

Grace Johnson 2 home runs for the Blue and Gold along with 6 RBIs.

Game 2

In the 1st inning, the Blue and Gold were able to take the lead 1-0. The Koalas had the lead in the 5th, and the Bruins made a great effort in the 7th scoring 2 runs but were unable to overcome the Koalas.

Grace Andrews had 5 POs, and Danielle Brooks had 2 RBIs for the Bruins.

The Lady Bruins will be at home on Wednesday to battle the Lions of Paine College.
