Clemmons, NC- Carolina University Softball hosted a doubleheader against the Lions of Paine College.
The Lions were able to take the first game from the Bruins 0-1 just barely. The Bruins dominated in the second winning 10-2 in only 5 innings.
Game 1
Madison Hamilton pitched 7 innings for the Blue and Gold and recorded 7 strikeouts, with only 1 error.
Grace Johnson recorded 9 POs in the first game.
Game 2
With 1 run on the board for the Lions in the bottom of the first the Bruins gained momentum. To set the tone for the second game Grace Johnson sent a home run over the left field wall. The Bruins were able to finish the 1st 3-1.
To start the 2nd Johnson singles, ZyMaijah Thomas hits a triple to bring Johnson back to home plate and earn an RBI. Thomas was able to steal home plate and tally another run for the Blue and Gold finished the 2nd inning with a 5-1 lead.
The Bruins scored 4 runs in the 4th inning, and Alexis Wynne and Danielle Brooks both shared doubles in the 4th. Kalea Bolch sent a home run over the left field fence tallying 3 RBIs.
