Charlotte, NC- Carolina University Softball earns yet another sweep in Saturday's doubleheader against the Golden Bulls from Johnson C. Smith University. The Bruins are now on a 9-game-win streak and will carry the momentum into this week's match up against Columbia College. 

The Lady Bruins won the first game 3-2, earning all 3 runs in the top of the 6th. The Blue and Gold really brought the heat in the second game winning  11-1, ending the game early by run-rule.

Game 1 

In the 6th with 2 outs and the score 1-2 bases loaded, Kourtney Cox stepped up to the plate. Cox landed a double bringing 2 base runners home and earning herself 2 RBIs. This sealed the 3-2 lead and final score for the Blue and Gold.

Danielle Brooks pitched 7 innings for the Bruins, she had 4 strikeouts. 

Kalea Bolch had 6 defensive POs, and Kourtney Cox had 2 RBIs and 1 double. 

Game 2

The Bruins offense got off to a quick start and finished the 2nd game in 5 innings 11-1. 

Top of the 2nd the Blue and Gold had 5 runs, and in the top of the 5th gained 4 more runs.

 In the 5th the score is now at 7-1 there are 2 outs on the board and the bases are loaded. The Bruins were able to take advantage of the Bull's pitching errors when the next 3 batters all walked, turning an already large lead into a 10-1 lead. Johnson was able to steal home in the Bruins last turn at bat, sealing the Blue and Golds' victory. 

Grace Andrews had 2 doubles, for the Bruins. Bolch led with 3 RBIs and Madison Hamilton pitched all 5 innings with 2 strikeouts.

Up Next 

The Lady Bruins will be in Columbia, SC on Monday to battle the Koalas of Colombia College.
