Box Score Winston-Salem, NC – The Carolina University women's volleyball team hosted Spartanburg Methodist for their Dig Pink game.
The Bruins dropped the first two sets to the Pioneers, losing 21-25 and 11-25, struggling to convert offensive opportunities during this stretch.
In the third set, the Bruins found their rhythm, winning 25-17, and continued their momentum into the fourth set, taking it 25-18. The Blue and Gold executed a series of impressive service runs and maintained solid serve receive, allowing them to stay composed and effectively utilize their middles as attacking options. Middle Hayley Stull tallied 8 kills, while Syvannah Poore contributed with 15 assists.
In the fifth set, the Pioneers jumped to a 4-0 lead before a timeout was called. After the break, the Pioneers missed their serve, giving the Bruins a chance to launch a service run. However, after a side change and some outstanding defensive plays from the Bruins' libero, the Blue and Gold ultimately fell 9-15.
The women's volleyball team will return on November 5th to face Bob Jones away at 5:00 PM in their last regular-season match.
