Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Men's Basketball (3-9) hosted Randolph College (7-6) on Wednesday, January 3.
The Bruins started 2024 with a bang with their fourteen point win against NCAA DIII Randolph College. The Wildcats jumped ahead to a 33-29 first half lead before the Bruins stormed back with a 51-point second half, improving their shooting percentage from 34.62% in the first half to an impressive 55.56% in the second half.
Adam Claybourne was the team's leading scorer, recording a 21 point/10 rebound double-double while Jayden Jackson added eleven points and ten boards. Cameron Parker (13), Luka Suster (12), and Ethan Bell (11) were all also double digit scorers.
"We've been talking a lot about wanting to win and not caring who gets the credit and that's how we played," said Head Coach Jacob Heck. "Really proud of these guys. We've had sicknesses and injuries but our guys did what they needed to do to win and I'm excited to play a lot of good basketball in 2024.
The Bruins return to Williams Gymnasium on Saturday, January 6, to take on NAIA opponent Washington Adventist University. Live stats and stream will be available.
