Augusta, GA - Carolina University Baseball played at Paine College on Friday, March 17th. The Lions started off the game in the lead with a run in the second inning. The Bruins responded in the third inning but in the fourth inning, they were down 2-8. CU tried to rally in the eighth inning with 4 runs but by then, they were down 8-12 as the Lions closed out the game. 

Frank Burke pitched 3 innings for the Bruins and had a strikeout. Burke was unfortunately tagged with the loss. Cade Fletcher pitched 2 innings and struck out 2 batters. Fletcher was excellent down the stretch and only allowed 2 runners on base and gave up no hits. John Kehoe did well offensively and went 3 of 5 and 3 RBIs. Deion Tubbs was 2 of 5 with 2 RBIs, with a double and a triple. Bryan Deegan was 1 of 3 at the plate with an RBI. Ean Laird had a good day and was 2 of 5 with a solo homerun. 

Carolina University will play at Truett McConnell next weekend, March 24th and 25th in Cleveland, GA.
