Baseball Faces Truett McConnell on the Road

Cleveland, GA - Carolina University played at Truett McConnell University for a weekend series with a doubleheader at 3:00 & 6:00 pm on Friday, March 24th and a doubleheader at 12:00 & 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 25th.

The first game was off to a slow start as neither team scored a run for the first three innings. In the bottom of the fourth inning, TMU scored three runs to take the lead to 3-0. The Bruins struggled at the plate and were unable to convert their hits. In the sixth inning, several Bears reached base and it resulted in three more runs scored. CU made strong efforts in the seventh inning to comeback. The Bruins scored a run but they came up short as the game came to an end, finishing 1-6.

Carolina U made a comeback in the second game as they started off scoring a run in the first two innings to take it 2-0. The Bruins forged ahead with another run in the fifth inning. TMU responded with their first run in the bottom of the fifth and another 4 in the sixth. CU seemed to gain energy in the final inning as multiple players got to the bases and finished with a 3 run homerun from Kevin Greenwood to close the game at 8-5.

The Bruins opened on Saturday with a run in the first inning and TMU answered with a run in the bottom of the inning. The final game of the series was challenging for the Bruins, as they lost some steam. TMU were hot out of the gate with 5 runs in the first two innings. The Bruins efforts did not show on the scoreboard in this game and after 4 more runs from the Bears, CU finished 1-9.
