Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Men's Volleyball hosted the University of Rio Grande on Tuesday, January 31st at 7:00 pm. The Bruins showed great energy on the court for their first home game of the season and used the crowd to their advantage. The first set was back and forth as both teams fought to get ahead. Rio took the set with a score of 25-22. CU bounced back quickly in the second set and rolled to the finish. After three exciting sets, the Bruins took the rest of the match 3-1 against the Red Storm. Â
Carolina U had some key players in their victory in this match. Bryson Abernathy had match-high 14 kills and recorded 4 aces. Mason Chambers had 11 kills. Tijhmir Glasco had match-high 36 assists for the Bruins. Steven Wilson had 8 digs followed by Rodger Pickett with 5 digs.Â
