Winston-Salem, NC - The Bruins played their last home game of the season against Toccoa Falls College as they also celebrated their Seniors on Saturday, February 11th. The Eagles took a strong lead in the start of this game and quickly took the score to 20-8. CU made a slight comeback with a 12-4 run to shrink the gap. The score was tied up at 29-29 and the Bruins were able to get their first lead to 36-32. The teams traded baskets and leads for the remainder of the half but Carolina U went to halftime up 45-43. After the break, CU stretched their lead to 11 points at 62-51 but slowly TFC clawed their way back into the game. It was back and forth up to the last second where a free throw by TFC would tie up the game to 82-82, which would put it into overtime. In the first couple of minutes of OT, the Eagles took a 7 point lead, but the Bruins answered with a 9-0 run. With another close finish, Carolina U snagged the win at 93-91.Â
Senior Micah Cooper celebrated his career by leading all scorers with 27 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and 2 steals for the team. Seniors Desmond Pressley and Maxwell Meminger both had a great night. Pressley scored 5 points and had 1 assist and Meminger had 02 points and grabbed a rebound for the team. Amarie Elijah-Kirby did well, scoring 17 points and led the team with 11 rebounds. Vladimir Vibert and Ethan Bell each had 16 points and 3 rebounds.Â
Carolina U is now 11-12 on the season and will play at Johnson & Wales University on Monday, February 13th. LiveStream and LiveStats will be available.Â
