Bermuda Run, NC - Carolina University Women's Soccer (9-5-1) hosted Regent University (5-6-4) in the NCCAA South Region Semi-Final.
The Bruins took on the Royals for a chance to play in the Regional Championship on Tuesday, November 14. Destini Wilson opened up the scoring for the Lady Bruins with a goal in the fourth minute, and scored the go-ahead goal in the thirty-fifth minute (assisted by Morgan Myers).
The Bruins were anchored defensively by Annie Norwood, Sarah Walters, Lauryn Scales, and Ashlyn Herzog, who all played ninety minutes. Alona Locklear played all ninety minutes in goal for the Bruins and recorded three saves.
"I thought we played well and did enough to get the job done," said Head Coach Boo Tesh. "That's a good team and it's hard to beat anybody three times in one year but we did it. We have to be ready to face CIU on Thursday."
The Lady Bruins will compete for the NCCAA South Region Championship on Thursday, November 16 at 7:00pm against Columbia International University. You can support the Bruins in person at Truist Sports Park or via live stats/stream at cubruins.com.
