Women's Soccer Falls In Regional Championship

Bermuda Run, NC - Carolina University Women's Soccer (9-5-1) hosted Columbia International University (12-6-1) in the NCCAA South Regional Championship Game at Truist Sports Park.

Natasha Mariam scored the Bruin' lone goal in the hotly contested battle for the Championship, while the team only allowed one goal in regulation. The 1-1 tie forced the game into overtime, where the Rams scored the go-ahead goal in the ninety-third minute.

The short-staffed Lady Bruins put up a strong effort, with all eleven starters playing 85 or more minutes and nine players logging 100 or more. Kloe Totel played the entire game in goal, logging nine saves. The Bruins were anchored defensively by Annie Norwood, Ashlyn Herzog, Lauryn Scales, and Sarah Walters.

"I could not be proud of our team and staff," said Head Coach Boo Tesh. "The players did everything we asked of them coming into the game, we just came up a little short. We had a good season, we will work hard over the spring, and be better next year!"
