Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Women's Basketball hosted Regent University on Saturday, January 28th. The Bruins brought the momentum from their recent wins and started off the game with a 20-6 point run. Regent didn't make many moves in the second quarter either after scoring a three pointer. The Bruins went to halftime with a score of 40-9. The Royals made a better effort in the second half, but were unable to keep up. CU continued to cruise to victory with a final score of 69-42.Â
Kevanika Brown scored 21 points and 4 steals. Denasia Mitchell had 17 points, 6 assists, and 5 steals. Lailah Heard had 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals. Ashley Roberts scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the team.Â
The Bruins are now 8-5 on the season and have won three games in a row. Carolina University will be on the road against Johnson & Wales on Wednesday, February 1st at 7:00 pm. JWU is 12-6 on their season and recently won a game against Paine College. LiveStats and LiveStream will be available.
