Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Women's Basketball hosted Johnson & Wales University on Saturday, January 14th at 2:00 pm. JWU was 8-6 on the season coming into the game. The Bruins were 5-4 coming onto the court. The teams were neck and neck, tying up the first quarter at 16-16. The Wildcats built a lead in the second quarter and went to halftime with a score of 46-27. The third quarter continued to be a challenge for the Bruins as they trailed behind 47-62. CU regrouped in the fourth quarter and picked up momentum. The Bruins closed the game on a 16-7 run, but it wasn't enough. They finished with a score of 63-69. 

Ashley Roberts led all scorers with a career high of 32 points and 17 rebounds. Julisa Lang and Denasia Mitchell both scored 8 points. Lailah Heard grabbed 9 rebounds for the team. 

Carolina U is now 5-5 and are looking to claim a win on the home court this week. They will host Virginia University of Lynchburg on Tuesday, January 17th at 5:00 pm. Come out to support the Bruins or join the LiveStream and LiveStats available!
