ROCKHILL, SC - Carolina University Women's Volleyball was on the road for their match against Clinton College on Tuesday, September 6th at 6:00 pm. CU had a solid offense and held the lead for the majority of the first set, ending with a score of 25-19. The second set proved to be a bit more difficult, as the Golden Bears started off with the lead. Just as the set was coming to a close, the Bruins fought back for a 27-25 finish. Carolina U used this momentum to win the third set 25-19 to take the match by a final score of 3-0.Â
The Bruins offense proved to be balanced as there were several contributions to the win. Giulia La Longa had match-high 12 kills followed by Sarah Pickett with 11 kills. Kamra King performed well as usual with a match-high 28 assists and recorded 3 blocks and 9 digs. Chiara Mottola had a great overall match with 7 kills, 14 digs, 3 aces, and 2 assists. Additionally, freshman Courtney Smith stepped into the rotation tonight as Libero and performed well with 12 digs and 4 assists.
The Bruins are back home Saturday, September 10th when they host a tri-match with NCCAA DI Regional opponents, Paine College and Virginia University of Lynchburg.
