Winston-Salem - The Bruins hosted Brevard College on Sunday, September 18th at 4:00 pm for a women's soccer match. The Tornadoes came into the game 4-1 and proved to be a worthy opponent. Both teams challenged every possession and quality shots were hard to come by. What proved to be the game winning goal was taken by Aaliyah Rubio at 10:00. The Bruins defense held strong for the rest of the game to secure the 1-0 victory.Â
The highlight of this game was Sarah Walters in the net. This was Walters' first start as goalkeeper for CU and she was excellent in the shut out. Rubio scored her fourth goal of the season and her first game winner. It was assisted by Avilene Arellano Ordaz.Â
