Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Men's Basketball hosted Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Saturday, December 10th at 4:00 pm. The Bruins have traditionally done well against MACU and this year, both teams had changes in coaching staff. Right out of the gate, they traded baskets, fighting to get ahead. CU hit a stride with a 14-6 run, taking a lead of 27-20. They let it slip, and MACU advanced rapidly with a 23-5 run, going to halftime with a score of 43-32. The Mustangs didn't let up, keeping their lead over 10 points for the first ten minutes of the second half. The Bruins continued to battle and had a 10-2 point run to tie up the game 59-59. CU pushed their lead to 7 points and would convert free throws down the stretch to finish the game with a score of 76-71.Â
Micah Cooper stayed red hot and led with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Cameron Buchanan scored 15 points and had 3 rebounds. Amarie Elijah-Kirby had 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Ethan Bell recorded 6 rebounds, 6 points, and 6 assists.Â
