Beckley, WV - Carolina University Men's Basketball closed out the first semester at West Virginia University Institute of Technology on Tuesday, December 13th at 7:00 pm. CU started off the game in the lead and continued to battle back and forth with the Golden Bears. After tying up multiple times, WVU Tech hit a stride with a 21-5 point run to make the score 45-30. The Bruins were able to chip away and get to 37-47 by halftime. The second half proved to be challenging for Carolina, as the Golden Bears continued to play well. CU made great efforts to score but WVU Tech maintained control of the game and finished with a score of 90-73.
Micah Cooper led all scorers with 27 points and grabbed a game-high of 14 rebounds. D'Shun Edwards scored 13 points and had 4 rebounds. Amarie Elijah-Kirby had 10 points and 7 rebounds.
The Bruins had a great first half of their season and will take a break for the holidays. They will return after the break for a game at Randolph College on January 2nd at 3:00 pm.
