MISENHEIMER, NC -- Carolina University Women's Volleyball was on the road for a Tri-Match on Saturday, September 4th. The Bruins played host school Pfeiffer University in the first match of the day. Carolina University jumped out to a great start and won the first set by a score of 25-16. The Bruins carried some of that momentum into the second set, but the Falcons would not go down easy. Pfeiffer rallied and took the second set by a score of 25-19. From there, the Falcons found their groove and downed the Bruins in set 3 by a 25-13 margin. Despite a good effort, the Bruins came up short in the fourth set as well and lost by a final score of 3-1.Â
Carolina University was led by freshman
Destinee Hardamon. Hardamon came on strong for the Bruins and led the team with 10 kills and 3 aces. She also chipped in 6 digs.
Kylie Kay had another strong performance for CU with 8 kills and 2 blocks.
Kamra King also performed well and had a game-high 22 assists.
Chiara Mottola was solid with 7 kills and a team-high 4 blocks.
Carolina University will now briefly rest at 1-1 before playing Ferrum College immediately following this match in Misenheimer, NC. The Panthers are 0-1 on the season and will play host Pfeiffer University following the Bruins to conclude this Tri-Match.
