WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Carolina University Men's Soccer hosted Grace Christian University on Thursday, September 23rd. The Bruins looked in control from the very start of this match and took the lead with a goal at the 14:02 mark. CU continued to dominate possession and scored again in the 32nd minute to stretch the lead to 2-0. From that point on, the Bruins began a revolving door of substitutions, but maintained control of the game. This game really never felt close, and the Bruins would win by a final score of 2-0.
The goals for Carolina University were scored by
Benjamin Fortuin (2) and
Luis Ugalde-Almanza (1).
Jeremiah Gibbs and
Heymans Bacallao Martinez each played 45 minutes in goal and combined to secure the shut-out victory for the Bruins.
Carolina University is now 4-3, but will return to the pitch quickly as they play at Greensboro College on Saturday. The match against the Pride will be at 4:00PM in Greensboro, NC.
