MISENHIEMER, NC -- Carolina University Women's Volleyball competed in a Tri-Match hosted by Pfeiffer University on Saturday, September 11th. The Bruins' first opponent of the day was Agnes Scott College. The Scotties entered the match at 0-4 after falling to host school Pfeiffer proceeding their match with CU. Carolina University never allowed them to catch their breath as the Bruins raced out to a 5-0 lead and took the first set by a score of 25-13. Agnes Scott regrouped and made the second set far more competitive, but in the end CU was able to pull away 25-17. The third set appeared to be all CU, but the Scotties rallied to reel off 6 consecutive points and pull within 1 of the Bruins at 21-20. Despite the late challenge, Carolina University was able to seal the set and the 3-0 sweep with a final set score of 25-23.
Carolina University had an extremely balanced attack in this match. Five Bruins combined for 26 of the 29 team kills;

Chiara Mottola (4). King also had a game-high 13 assists as a Setter. Defense was also a team effort with 6 Bruins combining for 28 of the 30 total digs;

The Bruins will now turn their attention to host school Pfeiffer University. Last week, CU stole the first set, but fell to the Falcons by a final score of 3-1. Carolina University will look to even the season series with a win in the final match of the day from Misenhiemer, NC.
