MISENHIEMER, NC -- Carolina University Women's Volleyball took on Pfeiffer University in the final match of a Tri-Match hosted by the Falcons on Saturday, September 11th. The Bruins fell 1-3 last week to Pfeiffer and were looking forward to another chance at victory. Carolina University stormed out to a 25-16 victory in set 1 and took set 2 with a closer 25-20 edge. The Bruins erased the memories of last week and left no doubt in set 3 as they won 25-16. This served as CU's third straight victory, all of which have been sweeps.
Destinee Hardamon and
Kamra King have started to develop quite the connection. Hardamon again led the Bruins and all participants with 17 kills, while King also had a game-high 29 assists.
Chiara Mottola did a bit of everything for the Bruins with 9 kills, 2 aces, 2 blocks, and 2 assists. Defensively,
Rebecca Walker had 12 digs and
Regan Adams and
Kamra King each had 9. The Bruins seemed to be finding their stride and coming together nicely as they improve to 4-1 on the season.
Carolina University is now set to host Pfeiffer University for the third and final meeting of the schools this season. Currently, the season series is tied at 1-1 and the match on Thursday, September 16th will break the tie. This match will be the Bruins home-opener and the first official contest of any kind in the newly renovated Williams Gymnasium.
