The Bruins were quick to counter with a Kalea Bolch homerun and took a 3-2 lead. Trinity Baptist would retake the lead in the top of the fourth inning and be up 4-3. The Eagles were gaining momentum, but in the bottom of the fifith the top of the Bruin order was due up. Carolina University took advantage and scored 3 more runs to take the 6-4 lead. The Eagles attempted a rally in the top of the seventh, but the CU defense took care of business to win Game 1 by a final score of 6-5.

Danielle Brooks pitched the complete game victory for the Bruins in her first post-season appearance. Brooks managed 7 K's and helped out her own cause with an RBI and a walk at the plate. Kalea Bolch led the offense today. Bolch has come on strong the second half of the season and carried that into Tournament play. She went 1-4 with 4 RBIs and her 4th homerun of the season.
