WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- Carolina University Baseball hosted a double-header against Columbia International on Tuesday, April 13th. The Rams scored 2 runs in the first inning and 2 more in the third. The Bruins settled in and answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the fourth. Carolina University looked to be righting the ship, but this game got away from them in the top of the 6th. CIU scored 6 runs and then added another 9 in the top of the 7th. This was just too much to overcome and the Bruins fell 1-19. 

Lucas Shannon started on the mound for the Bruins, but CU deployed 5 different pitchers in all. Bryan Deegan did a great job as lead-off going 2-3. Grant Harris went a solid 1-2 with a double that earned the only RBI of the day for CU.

Carolina University will look to get back on track in the second game from Mando Field.
