BLUEFIELD, VA -- Carolina University Baseball traveled to play against Bluefield College on Tuesday, March 2nd. The Bruins were looking to bounce back, but the Rams were a formidable opponent. Bluefield College got out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning. The Rams would be up 8-0 after the fifth and the Bruins just could not get anything going on offense. The Bruins were able to score 1 in the bottom of the seventh, but it was too little too late. Bluefield College would win this game 11-1.Â
Kaleb Whitaker started for the Bruins and pitched the first 2 innings with 1 strikeout and 2 earned runs. Carolina University used 4 relief pitchers on the day that combined for 2 strikeouts and 9 earned runs across 5 total innings. Offensively,

Kevin Greenwood went 1-3 and scored the Bruins' only run of the day.
Carolina University (3-7) will look to regroup and reload before playing at St. Andrews University on Tuesday, March 9th. The Bruins are 1-2 against the Knights this season and this will be the first game between the schools that is played in Laurinburg, NC.Â
